Dear family and friends,

We hope this has been a good year for you.

I am still working at Prestwood Software (www.prestwood.com), and increasingly active against Globalism and the shipping of U.S. jobs and technology overseas to the lowest bidders. I’m on the board, and webmaster for, www.naea.us, and president of the Programmers Guild. I was also on the committee for one of the 135 California governor candidates, doing his website: www.governorken.org (see me protesting Bank of America under “Events.”)

One evening in August I arrived home from work to find my entire house flooded due to a split washing machine hose. Insurance fixed it, but for a month I lived in the backyard.

With Tess and the kids we rented a jetski for a day on the Sacramento River, and went to Marine World. We also attended my sister’s husband’s surprise 50th birthday. Tess arranged a surprise 45th party for me just a week before, where many friends and former coworkers attended. In November my magician brother www.jayscottberry.com gave a presentation in Sacramento, which we all attended.

In September Tess and I ran the 12k Chevy’s to Chevy’s race:

Stephanie is now driving and has her first job as a cashier at Best Buy. Stephen broke his foot on his skateboard, and is learning to ride my motorcycle. In June Stephanie and Stephen spent a week in Mendocino with their cousins Erica and Dustin.

Stephanie was only one of 20 students to become a Sacramento Kings "Youth Captain of the Week" by showing leadership in the classroom and community. She won a tour of Arco Arena and stood outside the locker-room as they came out, and follow them onto the court. She received a King's Shooting shirt and met John Stockton, Karl Malone, and Chris Webber.

Stephen won “good boy of the year” and got to ride a rollercoaster with the Governor… just kidding. But we did ride Medusa together:

My favorite movie I watched this year was Office Space (comedy). I also recommend an older movie Pacific Heights (drama).

Best wishes for 2004
