On November 11th Kim and Tess visited the Sacramento Auto Show.

The Dodge Charger is a big powerful car. But at $36,000 I'm not sure it has a niche. The Ford Mustang was also incredible, more like the original, and more affordable. (My first car was a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 - see photos of it below.)

But the sticker on this Porche Carrera - $447,000 - makes the Charger seems like the deal of the century.

Kim also liked the Mini-Cooper. I expected it to be cramped, but inside it feels like a large car.

Back to reality, we both like the Chevy Aveo. I told the Chevy Rep that they need to start importing the Chevy Matiz. He also told me that Chevy should consider importing the UTE that is popular in Australia. (Gee I was there last month and saw many of them - sort of the like El Camino of the 1970s.)

They had several classic cars on display, such as this 1908 Reo Runabout. (Reo history here)

And this 1911 Marion Runabout Roadster - which must be rare since only a few Google matches

And some hotrods too.

In January 2000 I took the Russell Racing course at Sears Point in one of these

These are UTEs:

Here is the 1968 Dodge Charger I owned in 1975, when I was 16. This was a solo trip to Pyramid Lake, at about 100 MPH.
On the return trip one of the headers broke off, so I had to pay to have them properly secured.
