FRANCES ALICE FOLEY BERRY
Trip to Long Beach

Around 1927 Frances went to Long Beach to visit her aunt, Mrs. George Morgan. Her aunt lived in Signal Hill and got money to by a car when an oil company placed a rig in her backyard. She went to Long Beach with her grandparents. I guess in those days a trip to LA was newsworthy - presumably from the Sacramento Bee:

Possibly the aunt's house in Signal Hill

But here are three photos at another house in Signal Hill
Note the oil wells in the background

Male at same house - Uncle George Morgan?

Is this the aunt? The news article says that Frances traveled with her grandparents. Where are they?

She was not the only one with an oil well in her backyard, as this May 1, 1923 photo reveals.
